I'm taking some time to think about Fall Fashion, perhaps its because the sewing bug hit me (it does this time of year) and I want to make a few new items. I love being a "minimalist" dresser, but I need some good print and and color to shake things up from day to day. Here is what I think I will be working on in the next few months:
No 1// Some cropped sweaters made from the Colette Pattern Astoria. I'm hoping to sewing them in loft light knits (don't need anything too heavy in southern california) in basic colors like black and grey and a fun color like burgundy or forest green.
No 2// High Waisted Midi Skirts to wear with t-shirts and my cropped sweaters. The color and print aspect of my wardrobe can come in here. I'm going to look for folk inspired fabrics and dark floral fabrics to make my skirts from. I'm looking for a pattern with a good fitted waist and buttons down the front.
No 3// Some grungy t-shirts to wear with tailored skirts and trousers. I'll have to hunt around!
No 4// A field jacket like the one from LL Bean shown here.
That's what I have got for now! Let me know what you have planned for Fall. If you are interested in capsule wardrobe planning, I'll be sharing my resources and tips here soon!
